Softness + some news

I love the sense of infinity you get in some of these photos.  So calming.
Such an Australian landscape. Kind of reminds me of a Qantas ad. haha

So I have some news! I got offered a new job.

A couple of days ago I got a call from the department informing me with the offer. It’s a permanent job and will be my first ‘proper/responsible’ job. After six years of studying and working casual jobs, it is a new opportunity for me. I’m grateful to be offered a permanent and financially secure job, it will help with becoming more financially independent.

It funny with this new job, my masters degree was valued and seen as an asset not a detriment despite it not being specifically in architecture. The department were looking at new staff and offered progression. While I was job hunting, I applied for a printing assistant job. During the interview, the hiring manager and staff were concerned that with my level of education I would be bored and be seeking other opportunities. This company could not offer me progression or promotions. I’m glad that they mentioned this.

I think it is common case with many entry-level positions.

I’m really grateful of this new opportunity. I think a design education is applicable in many situations; it involves problem solving and analysis, a combination of the arts and sciences. Feels great to be appreciated.
