JA Issue 81

Has anyone seen the current issue of JA magazine? I saw it in the library a couple of days ago.
It features architect Hiroshi Sambuichi's works. I was not aware of his works before so it also a nice introduction as well. As I am working on sustainable design this semester his body of works had spoke with much relevance.
Sanbuichi approaches his designs with much poetry, every detail is considered and thought. Be it a door handle, a floor board or shaft. He also designs with consideration of the earths' patterns and seasons. He makes 'special effort to carefully read the earths' details'.

The cover here shows an observatory Sambuichi designed, the trellis-like structure of the roof is covered in ice and snow. It is rather lyrical of him to have architecture shaped by the natural elements. Or should it be the other way round? I love the idea of the two being synonymous.

Feeling tired/unmotivated today. Have had grueling days of school work and there's more to follow.
